North and East Syria: Syriac Cross for Relief and Development distributes food baskets to displaced people of Rish Ayno and Tel Tamr

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA – Humanitarian aid organization Syriac Cross for Relief and Development has distributed a new round of food baskets to the displaced people from Rish Ayno and Tal Tamr. In comments to our news desk, Syriac Cross region manager for the Gozarto (Jazira) Region Malik Hanna said the monthly food basket distributions started in February 2021 and will run to September 2021.

The program is supported by the US-based Christian non-profit organization Samaritan’s Purse. Syriac Cross and Samaritan’s Purse work together in 3- and 6 month contracts and have completed several earlier food distribution programs together.

Malik Hanna pointed out that the distributions are for (internally) displaced people from Rish Ayno (Ras al-Ayn), Tel Tamr (Khabur valley), and those living in and around Hasakah city. The distribution process is regular and based on the number of family members.
