Olaf Taw Association participates in teacher training in North and East Syria

ZALIN, Syria — As part of its annual program of work, the Education Directorate of Gozarto (Jazira) Region in North and East Syria conducted a course for teachers from across the region to train them in modern education techniques.

To see more closely how the courses were conducted, our correspondent conducted several interviews with supervisors and teachers.

“We learn here the teaching methods at Almaza Khalil School,” said one of the teachers. “We learn here the curriculum in Syriac.”

“These courses are aimed at strengthening teachers in the ways and methods of education and increase the ability of teachers to deal with children in schools,” they added.

“I am currently undergoing a training course,” said Mrs. Hana of the Olaf Taw Association. “This course is a strengthening for us — learning science, mathematics, and community material — so that the students can also benefit from the teaching experience we gain.”

The courses are being conducted in four centers in Zalin (Qamishli) over 18 days.
