IRAQ: ISIS plotted attack Al-Karkh Central Prison

BAGHDAD — Government officials in Iraq revealed the intention of the Islamic State (ISIS) to launch an armed attack on the Al-Karkh Central Prison in Iraq to free ISIS leaders being detained there.

The revelation came in a document issued by the headquarters that controls the prison and published by Iraqi website Alsumaria News. According to the document, the planned attack involved booby-trapped vehicles coming from Abu Ghraib district, in conjunction with suicide bombers escorting the vehicles and carrying out the attack.

The document also indicated that early planning of the attack on the prison was carried out by persons working in the Iraqi Correctional Department cooperating with ISIS.
