SUP Co-Chair Nazira Goreya talks about importance of recognition of Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria

ZALIN, Syria — Demands continue on social media for recognition of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria.

Co-Chair of the Syriac Union Party (SUP) in Syria Nazira Goreya said to SyriacPress that, “This demand is in the interest of all the peoples and components of North and East Syria, including the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean).”

“To date, there is still a veto and exclusion of the DAA from participating in dialogues and meetings held in Geneva and Sochi,” she added.

Goreya highlighted the importance of recognition, stating, “The demand is official recognition or political recognition of these components and the DAA which represents them and ensuring their participation in the process of solving the Syrian crisis.”

“The experience of the DAA is invaluable in establishing peace and drafting a democratic constitution that guarantees the rights of all Syrians, including the Syriacs (Arameans–Assyrians–Chaldeans).”
