SHENGAL, Iraq — The Bethnahrain Patriotic Union (Huyodo d-Bethnahrin Athroyo, HBA) visited Shengal (Sinjar) District in Nineveh Governorate in Iraq at the invitation of the Autonomous Administration leadership in Shengal to attend its fourth conference.
The visiting delegation included Public Relations Officer and Member of the Political Bureau Qusay Sliwa and Member of the Executive Office and Media Officer Ma’rib Imad.
At the conference, titled “The Autonomous Administration represents a Bridge to Reach Freedom”, Sliwa delivered a speech on behalf of the HBA stating that the freedom of the Iraqi people will be achieved through real partnership between components in a framework of pluralistic, democratic, and decentralized political system.
The HBA also indicated that the tragedies of the Iraqi people will not go away until reaching a stable political system.
“In the view of the HBA, there is no practical political solution that will preserve the rights of all components and nationalities except the establishment of a democratic, federal system with decentralized governance,” said Sliwa.
The HBA representatives thanked the Autonomous Administration of Shengal for their invitation.
