Syriac Emile Elio becomes bodybuilding champion of Syrian Arab Republic
DARAMSUQ / ZALIN, Syria – The Syriac Emile Fahmy Elio has become bodybuilding champion of the Syrian Arab Republic. In the bodybuilding championship held on July 26, in the Syrian capital Daramsuq (Damascus), Elio came in first in the weight class of 100 kilograms.
Emile Elio is a Syriac (Suryoyo) from the city of Zalin (Qamishli) in the Gozarto (Jazira) Region in North and East Syria. Elio has always had a passion for bodybuilding. From an early age he participated in many contests and has won many awards. He has his own fitness club.
Elio’s father is Fahmy Elio, head of the Federation of Trade Unions in Hasakah. His mother is malfonitho (teacher) Rima Asmar, who is responsible for teaching the Syriac language at the Elias Hanna Heritage and Charitable Foundation.
