Maria Farhad wins Miss Iraq 2021
ERBIL / NINEVEH PLAINS – The Syriac Maria Farhad has been chosen as the most beautiful woman in Iraq. The 20-year-old student in computer science from the Syriac city of Baghdede (Qaraqosh) in the Nineveh Plains won the beauty contest Miss Iraq 2021.
On July 29, twenty Iraqi women competed for the title of most beautiful in Iraq which is sponsored by the Iraqi Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities.
Besides Maria Farhad competing as Miss Nineveh Plains 2021, Rand Khaled Sabeeh (26) represented Assyria. Miss Nineveh Plains and Miss Assyria represent the traditional Syriac (Chaldean-Aramean-Assyrian) homeland in Iraq.
