Syriac bodybuilding champion Emile Elio, “This victory is just the beginning”
ZALIN (QAMISHLI) – The Syriac Emile Fahmy Elio became national bodybuilding champion in the weight class of 100 kilograms of the Syrian Arab Republic on July 26. Emile Elio is a Syriac (Suryoyo) from the city of Zalin in the Gozarto (Jazira) Region in North and East Syria.
Elio has always had a passion for bodybuilding. From an early age he participated in many contests and won many awards. He has his own fitness club. Elio’s father is Fahmy Elio, head of the Federation of Trade Unions in Hasakah. His mother is malfonitho (teacher) Rima Asmar, who is responsible for teaching the Syriac language at the Elias Hanna Heritage and Charitable Foundation.
On his return from Daramsuq (Damascus), where the contest was held, Elio commented to our news desk.
“I started preparing for this championship about 6 months ago under the supervision of my coach Fouad Boujqali. He was my support and always there for me.”
“In the championship in Damascus, 67 bodybuilders from different Syrian regions participated. I took part in the 100 kilogram weight class. I beat the competitors and took first place.”
“I would like to thank everyone who supported and encouraged me, my relatives, friends, and coach. And also Suroyo TV for their media coverage.”
Regarding his future in bodybuilding, champion Emile Elio said:
“This victory is just the beginning, and hopefully, we will progress and develop further. I advise all lovers of this sport to practice it correctly and not to choose the easy way because success also means to make sacrifices.”
