Minute of silence in Armenian Parliament in honor of martyrs of 1933 Simele Massacre

YEREVAN — In honor and respect for the souls of the martyrs of the Simele Massacre that took place in 1933, the deputies of the Armenian Parliament observed a minute of silence before starting their session.

The observance was proposed by Representative Zemfira Mirzo An of the Hayaistan bloc.

The Simele Massacre is one of the massacres committed against the Christian peoples in the early 20th century. The massacre claimed the lives of over 5,000 Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian men, women, and children.
