Palestinian delegation visits North and East Syria, repatriates two Palestinian children from camps

ZALIN, Syria — The Foreign Relations Commission of North and East Syria received a Palestinian delegation headed by Consul General for Palestine in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Basim Fahmy Heles at its headquarters in Zalin (Qamishli).

The delegation was received by Co-Chair of the Foreign Relations Commission Abdulkarim Omar, Deputy Co-Chair Fener al-Geit, and Deputy in the Women’s Authority in Gozarto (Jazira) Region Sabah Shabo.

During the meeting, Heles stated that Palestine, like other countries and authorities, responded to the call of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria to repatriate its citizens from camps administered by the DAA to prevent their radicalization.

Heles expressed his thanks and appreciation to the DAA for the care and attention it provided to the visiting delegation and hoped that security and peace would be achieved for all.

At the end of the meeting, two Palestinian children from families associated with the Islamic State (ISIS) were handed over to the visiting delegation according to an official handover document signed between the two sides.
