MIDYAT, Turkey – Syriac activist and president of the Syriac Women’s Union in Turkey Teodora Özdemir Beth Hobel was released earlier today after being detained early Sunday morning.
She was released after giving statement at the prosecutor’s office.
The grounds of her detention are unknown to SyriacPress.
Mardin Syriac Union Association President Yuhanun Aktaş was also detained and brought in for questioning. We have no information at this moment on his situation.
