Syrian Democratic Council of North and East Syria declares its solidarity with the besieged people of Druco (Daraa)

DRUCO, Syria — The parties of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) stated that the Syrian regime’s reconciliations are only a tactic to evade the radical structural solutions needed for stability and peace in the country. In its statement, the SDC statement declared its solidarity with the people of Druco (Daraa), the cradle of the Syrian revolution.

“Raising the slogans of freedom, justice, and dignity, the first spark of the Syrian revolution started in Daraa in 2011 and moved to the rest of the regions to express the ambition of all Syrians and break tyranny and dictatorship,” the statement read.

The SDC pointed to the Syrian regime’s violent reaction to the legitimate demands of the Syrian people as the root cause of the conflict and its continued intransigence only prolonging the national crisis.

The SDC stated that Daraa al-Balad is witnessing a dangerous turning point as the region is again under siege and bombardment by the Syrian regime despite previous reconciliation agreements secured by Russia.

The statement called on all advocates for freedom and justice to work effectively to end the Syrian conflict and secure the rights of Syrians to live in freedom, dignity, and independence.

The experience of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria could become a model of a democratic and decentralized Syria, while maintain Syrian unity and territorial integrity, said the SDC.
