Women’s Authority in North and East Syria to hold dialogue sessions with women to look for economic projects
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — The Women’s Authority of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria is planning a series of dialogue sessions with the women’s movements in the region to discuss possible economic projects to benefit women, according to a statement by deputy in the Women’s Authority Sabah Shabo.
“We had a program with all women movements to take proposals in the economic field to open economic projects,” Sabah Shabo told SyriacPress. “The first session was with the committees of women, psychological counseling centers, as well as kindergarten’s teachers. The second session will be with representatives of parties and civil society organizations and institutions that support women.”
On the importance of these projects, Shabo said, “The region is experiencing harsh economic conditions, taking a heavy on society, especially on women.”
It is our duty to take care of this aspect and we want to meet with all women to take proposals for economic projects,” she added. “At the end of the sessions, we will form a committee to study and implement these projects, depending on their priority and their importance to society.”
“According to the strategy of the Administration, especially for women, and in our work as the Women’s Authority, we will always seek to help women progress, especially in the economic field,” Shabo concluded.
