Revitalizing the Nineveh Plains: Church in Alqosh begins construction of accommodation for the disabled and elderly

ALQOSH/NINEVEH PLAIN, Iraq – At the initiative of the Syriac Chaldean Church in Alqosh to accommodate the disabled and the elderly, the construction of a new accommodation on one of the church grounds has started.

The new accommodation is located on the monastery road near the women’s center in the small Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian town. The entire complex will have a total area of 2,100 square meters, the building 675 square meters.

The building will have a medical department, in- and outdoor restaurants, a public hall, a chapel, 18 rooms with gardens, and is equipped with an elevator.

According to Father Dr. Salar Bodag Khoury to Khoranat Alqosh the new building was made possible by the donation from an expatriate family in Sweden.
