Syrian regime and Turkey have requested Swiss government close North and East Syria representation office recently opened in Geneva
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — The representation of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria in Geneva expressed its regret over the statements of the Syrian Foreign Ministry which called on Switzerland to reconsider the decision to allow the DAA to open an office in Geneva.
DAA Representative in Geneva Hikmat Ibrahim stated that the office was opened to manage the affairs of Syrians and communicate with international decision-making centers with the aim of expediting a solution to end the war in Syria.
He also added that the DAA’s project was never a separatist project and that the DAA’s forces were the ones that protected the Syrian borders.
Member of the DAA representation office in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) Fatahullah Husseini stated that the Turkish government has also sent a request to Switzerland reconsider its decision and to close the office.
