Eight employees in Organized Crime Office of North and East Syria arrested for forgery and receiving bribes

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — As part of the campaign to combat corruption, eight individuals of the Organized Crime Office of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (SDF) of North and East Syria were arrested. Those arrested are suspected of forging documents and invoices, receiving bribes, and harming the reputation of the DAA and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The suspects had taken their positions in the DAA and the SDF and embezzled millions of dollars. It was confirmed that they had committed these crimes and they were arrested by a court decision. According to a press release, they will be sent to prison.

During the trial, the court referred to the accused as an “organized criminal gang” and issued sentences against them.
