Beth Nahrin Women’s Protection Forces of North and East Syria mark 6th anniversary of founding
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — On Monday, the 6th anniversary of its founding, Commander of the the Beth Nahrin Women’s Protection Forces (Ḥaylawotho d’Sutoro d’Neshe d’Beth Nahrin, HSNB) Zenobia spoke with SuroyoTV about the beginnings of the HSNB and the difficulties they faced.
“When the terrorist organization ISIS attacked the villages of Khabur, we confronted it and defended the land of our people,” she began. “All military forces joined us in this response and we have worked since the beginning of the establishment of our forces to strengthen women and give them their role and place in society.”
“We have overcome many of the obstacles that we have encountered,” Zenobia proclaimed.
“We have many military centers in different areas across North and East Syria, including Tel Tamr, Dayrik, and Qabre Hewore, and we will work during the coming periods to open new centers in other areas,” she said.
Zenobia went on to say there is no difference between the components of the region, whether they are Syriac, Arab, or Kurds — everyone should have one hand in confronting any external danger, especially the ongoing Turkish attacks.
She concluded with a congratulatory message to all women on this occasion, stressing the continuation of the HSNB forces in their struggle and resistance to any danger threatening the region.
