Demonstrations in front of Russian base near Ayn Issa over failure to prevent Turkish attacks on North and Easy Syria

AYN ISSA, Syria — Hundreds of residents of Ayn Issa and displaced people from Tel Abyad demonstrated against the ongoing Turkish attacks and occupation of North and East Syria.

The demonstrators marched to a Russian base to the east of Ayn Issa carrying banners reading “Enough with the Turkish occupation. Yes, to protect the gains of the revolution.”

Upon arriving at the Russian base, Co-Chair of the Executive Council of Euphrates Region in the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) Mohammad Shahen delivered a speech condemning the silence of the international community, particularly the Russian forces who are supposed to be guaranteeing the ceasefire, against the repeated Turkish attacks on the people of North and East Syria.

At the end of his speech, Shahen called on the international community to intervene to end Turkey’s violations and ensure the safety of the people of North and East Syria.

In related news, on World Peace Day, the councils of Zalin Canton condemned the bombing of civilians and the crimes of the Turkish state and its Syrian National Army (SNA) proxies against North and East Syria.

The statement of the Zalin District Council was delivered by Co-Chair of the Council Suleiman Abu Bakr.

“The Turkish state and its mercenaries strike these areas without taking into account the existence of the will of the people and go beyond all international conventions and treaties calling for peace,” said Bakr.
