Nineveh Pharmaceutical Factory in Iraq to be rehabilitated by an industry company with UNDP aid

SAMARRA, Iraq — The General Company for the Pharmaceutical Industry and Medical Supplies in Samarra will rehabilitate one of its factories in Nineveh Plains as a part of efforts to boost the local economy. The company is one that has been at the center of negotiations between the Ministry of Industry and Minerals and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

The Ministry of Industry and Minerals stated that the company held a meeting, headed by the Company Director Muhammad Abdul Qadir Mustafa, with UNDP representatives at the headquarters of the Nineveh Pharmaceutical Factory.

According to a statement, the factory rehabilitation will be implemented in two phases. The first phase will be removing rubble at the site, restoring surrounding gardens, and painting the sidewalks. The work of this stage will start within the next 10 days and will be completed within 45 days.

The second phase will include the rehabilitation of the power station to provide electric power to the factory.

The work will be implemented by companies specialized in repairing and rehabilitating industrial facilities. Financing for the project has already been secured, according to the Ministry of Industry.
