IRAQ: Beth Nahrain Organization for Women holds its 2nd course of hairdressing for women in Baghdede
BAGHDEDE, Iraq — With the support of the Shai Foundation, the Beth Nahrain Organization for Women (BNOW) organized s second hairdressing course for women in the town of Baghdede in Nineveh Plains. Twenty women participated in the course which lasted for three months.
The aim of organizing such courses is to help support women economically through teaching them professions, allowing them some degree of financial independence.
Efforts to empower women — economically, socially, and politically — are a part of the U.N.’s 2030 Development Plan.
