Lebanese Universal Syriac Union Party President Ibrahim Mrad: The Syriac people remain committed to their ancestral lands and heritage
BEIRUT — During a Mass held to remember the martyrs of the Lebanese Christian resistance in Tiberias, President of the Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP) Ibrahim Mrad stated that the Syriac people remain in their homeland despite difficult circumstances, despite treason, and despite corruption and theft by rulers and officials.
Mrad pointed out that all attempts to sell Lebanon to Hezbollah, Iran, and others and all the difficulties of hunger, poverty, marginalization, and injustice will not shake the adherence of the Syriac people to their land and heritage.
“We will tell our children and grandchildren that Lebanon is the land of saints and martyrs,” said Mrad. “We will remain to witness truth with the sunshine every morning, we will remain to ring the bells of monasteries and churches forever.”
“Glory and immortality to the martyrs of our Lebanese Christian resistance,” he concluded.
