Syriac Military Council Spokesperson Matai Hanna: Our forces are ready to face any violation or abuse committed by Turkey and its proxies

TEL TAMR, Syria — Spokesperson for the Syriac Military Council (Mawtbo Fulḥoyo Suryoyo, MFS) Matai Hanna assured the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people that their military formations are ready for any violation or abuses affecting their villages, stressing that they will remain the shield of their land.

Human rights violations committed by Turkish forces and the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) continue across the occupied regions of North and East Syria. Civilian areas along the line of contact between the SNA and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are routinely shelled by the former.

More recently, the Syriac–Assyrian villages of Tel Taweel and Dardara have been bombed to the silence of the international community.

The forces of the MFS and the Tel Tamr Military Council continue to repel any attempts to infiltrate their positions and respond militarily to the sources of fire, said Hanna.

Hanna stressed the MFS will remain in the Khabur region, home to dozens of Syriac–Assyrian villages, and will remain steadfast in the defense of their homeland and holy places.
