Political delegation from North and East Syria visits Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow

MOSCOW — At the invitation of the Russian Foreign Ministry, a high-level delegation from North and East Syria visited Moscow.

The delegation included Co-Chair of the Executive Council of Gozarto (Jazira) Region in North and East Syria Nazira Goreya, Co-Chair of the Executive Committee of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) Elham Ahmed, member of the SDC Executive Council Sihanouk Dibo, Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) Representative in Moscow Rashad Binaf, and Representative of the Democratic Union Party (Partiya Yekîtiya Demokrat, PYD) in Russia Abdul Salam Ali.

During the meeting, which was described as positive, both sides emphasized the need to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis in accordance with the U.N. Security Council Resolution 2254 and the importance of the SDC participating in the political process. The ongoing Turkish violations and attacks on the regions of North and East Syria were also touched on.
