Anti-Terror Units of North and East Syria arrest 27-member ISIS cell in Hasakah countryside
HASAKAH, Syria — The Anti-Terror Units (Hêzên Antî Teror, HAT) of North and East Syria stated that an intelligence operation monitoring cells of the Islamic State (ISIS) led to the arrests of 27 suspects.
The HAT added that the suspects was arrested in the villages of Abed and Fallaha in the countryside of Hasakah. The security operation in which they were arrested was conducted with the support of the U.S.-led International Coalition. Those arrested are accused of facilitating the movement of other ISIS members and planning assassinations against civilians and military personnel.
Weapons and equipment used to carry out terrorist attacks, like planting mines and conducting assassinations, were seized during the operation.
