Delegation of women’s organizations visits Syriac Women’s Union in Qabre Hewore (Al-Qahtaniyah) in North and East Syria

QABRE HEWORE, Syria — On Saturday, a delegation of women from political parties and women’s rights groups in Qabre Hewore (Al-Qahtaniyah) in North and East Syria visited the headquarters of the Syriac Women’s Union (SWU).

The visiting delegation congratulated the SWU on the selection of their new administrative team.

In their discussions, they touched on strengthening their cooperative efforts to increase the role of women in politics and the economy.

Both sides praised the role of women in North and East Syria, including many women martyrs who have died while serving in the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Internal Security Forces (ISF), and other self-defense forces.

The efforts made by women to chart a path for a new, inclusive Syria based on coexistence among all components of the country was highlight as being especially import.

At the end of the visit, the two parties agreed to strengthen their cooperation to achieve their mutual goals.
