Kurdistan Democratic Party says responsibility to respond to Iranian bombardment lays with Baghdad
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq — In a public statement, adviser to the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Masoud Haider said that the response to the Iranian bombing that targeted several villages in Erbil is the responsibility of the central government in Baghdad.
Haider pointed out that the irresponsible Iranian threats do not respect the good neighborliness between Iraq and Iran and Baghdad should respond to the routine bombing of the border areas which negatively impacts civilians in the area.
He stressed that there is no Iranian armed opposition in the territory of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI).
During the past week, the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted the headquarters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran along the border with the KRI. Their heavy bombardment lasted for three days.
