Corona pandemic: full lockdown in Gozarto Region

ZALIN (QAMISHLI), Syria – The Crisis Cell in the Gozarto (al-Jazira) Region in North and East Syria has decreed a full one-week lockdown, starting from Saturday morning September 25, six in the morning until Friday October 1. The decision entails the closure of all public facilities, markets, industrial stores, places of worship, schools, universities, institutes, kindergartens, restaurants, cafes, medical clinics, and a ban on sports activities.

Movement between cities and rural areas is not allowed, with exceptions for relief organizations, water and fuel tankers, vehicles transporting vegetables, medicines, and for relevant media.

As for private hospitals, they are only allowed to receive emergency cases. Pharmacies can only work according to shift schedules determined by the Pharmacists Union.

Grocery shops are excluded from the ban and under conditions from six in the morning until six in the evening. Al-Hal markets are allowed open from ten in the evening until ten in the morning.

Work is restricted in all institutions of the Democratic Autonomous Administration according to shifts.

The Internal Security Forces will enforce the curfew measures.
