Former Syriac Member of Iraqi Parliament Joseph Sliwa on Iraqi election results: The five ‘winners’ of Christian quota seats do not represent Christians
ANKAWA, Iraq — In a recent interview, Former Syriac Member of Iraqi Parliament Iraqi MP Joseph Sliwa told Kurdistan Region of Iraq’s Rudaw Network that the five winners of the Christian quota in Iraqi Parliament do not represent Christians because 90% of the votes they received were not from the Christians.
Sliwa accused non-Christian parties of stealing parliamentary seats from Christians by putting forward puppet candidates and having non-Christians vote for them.
The electoral results is a major transgression against the Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian people by the dominating political parties.
“The votes and Parliament seats are not real, ” he proclaimed, stressing that the Christians have nothing to do neither with Shia–Shia conflicts or Kurdish–Kurdish conflicts.
Four of the five Christian Quota seats went to the Shia Islamist Badr Organization-backed Babylon Movement
