ZALIN, North and East Syria – As part of strengthening diplomatic relations and cooperation with other political parties, a Syriac Union Party (SUP) delegation visited today the Kurdish Democratic Party (KDP) in Syria in Zalin (Qamishli).

The visiting delegation included the Syriac Union Party co-president, Sanharib Barsoum, and party officials Ephrem Isaac and Gabriel Chamoun. They sat down with Nasreddine Ibrahim, the KDP’s secretary, Ziad Osman and Shervan Shekho, members of the Central Committee, Lina Ramo and Nouzha Khalil from the party’s women’s office.

The visiting SUP delegation congratulated the leadership and members of the KDP in Syria on the occasion of their twelfth party conference, and discussed a number of recent issues and developments in Syria in general and the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria in particular.

The two parties stressed the importance of joining forces to meet the challenges and threats affecting the autonomous region, and the need to stand by the DAA and its executive body the Syrian Democratic Council in its quest for a political solution to the Syrian crisis, as well as supporting the Syrian Democratic Forces and Internal Security Forces in their efforts to enhance security and stability in the regions.
