IRAQ: Directorate General of Syriac Study holds 5-day development courses for its teaching staff

BAGHDAD – Under the auspices of Iraqi Minister of Education Ali Hamid Dulaimi and under the supervision of the Director General of Syriac Study, Imad Salem Jajo, the Directorate General of Syriac Study in Iraq held online central development courses for teachers of Syriac language and Christian education in the Syriac studies departments of Baghdad, the Nineveh Governorate, Kerkheslokh (Kirkuk), and Nohadra (Dohuk).

The development courses continued for five days with the participation of more than 165 teaching staff. The courses were supervised by Florence Behnam, Director of the Department of Supervision and Training, and Manhal Elias, head of the Program and Technology department.

The courses included lectures on Christian education by the nun Hanan Ishoa, on the Syriac language by Shrara Youssef, head of the translation department, and on teaching methods by Ramzi Kamlil, head of the information department, and Dr. Nidal Matti, Assistant Director General.

Through these courses, the Directorate General of Syriac Study seeks to develop modern educational and teaching skills by providing them with scientific tools in the field of Syriac language and Christian religious education.
