GIESSEN, Germany – The presidential committee of the Beth Nahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo d-Bethnahrin, MUB) has extended its condolences to the family of Fikria Küçük Aslan Beth Mellé who passed away 15 November in Giessen, Germany, at the age of 69, after having contracted the Coronavirus. Fikria Beth Mellé was the mother of MUB member Emmanuel Beth Mellé.

Fikria Küçük Aslan Beth Mellé was born in 1952, in Midyat, Turkey. She married George Beth Mellé from Zalin, Syria, in 1967 and joined her husband there. They had four sons and one daughter together. She immigrated with her family from Zalin (Qamishli) to Germany in 1991. She did her best to preserve her Syriac language, heritage, culture, religion and identity. She cultivated the love for her Syriac people and nation in her children’s hearts.

In its statement, the MUB presidential committee expressed its deep appreciation for the struggle of our Syriac mothers and their role in cultivating patriotism in the hearts of their children. Struggle heals the wounds of the path of national unity and freedom, and every step the body takes on the path of national unity and freedom fulfills part of their aspirations for a peaceful life.

The MUB presidential committee concluded its statement with offering its sincere condolences to Beth Nahrin National Council member Emmanuel Beth Mellé and the whole family.
