LEBANON: Universal Syriac Union Party in Lebanon distributes new round of monthly financial aid

BEIRUT — Within the “Twin Family” aid program of the Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP) in Lebanon, USUP distributed a new round of monthly financial aid on Friday to 300 families in need from the northern Matn coastal region. The aid was distributed at its office in Sed El Bauchrieh, Matn District, Mount Lebanon.

This financial aid comes as part of USUP ongoing activities in support of Syriacs suffering from the harsh economic conditions the country is going through. Aid is made possible with the help of partners Syriac Cross Organization for Relief and Development, Netherlands-based Stichting Shlomo, and Switzerland-based SCHlomo Relief and Development.

USUP President Ibrahim Mrad stated on the occasion that “USUP, through its charitable institutions and through the help of the Syriac people, will continue its humanitarian work in supporting our people’s steadfastness, through distributing monthly financial aid, food, and medical supplies.” Recently, the Universal Syriac Union Party launched a scholarship project in the Syriac city of Zahle to further education and social development.

Ibrahim Mrad also affirmed that the will of the Syriac people is to not surrender, and to choose to remain in their homeland, just as the children of the Lebanese Christian resistance did not and will not kneel for. He described the incumbent ruling authority in Lebanon as treacherous and criminal, an authority that seeks to eliminate Lebanon’s civilization and put it to the service of Iran’s regional hegemonial project which it executes through its local terrorist militias.
