NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — After completing their cultural, intellectual, and military training, a new batch of Bethnahrain Women’s Protection Forces (Ḥaylawotho d’Sutoro d’Neshe d’Beth Nahrin; HSNB) and Women’s Sutoro (Syriac Security Forces) graduated from Martyr Akkad Academy.

The cohort was named Martyr Ishtar. During their training, the HSNB recruits were taught weapons handling and tactical maneuvering with light and medium weapons. The training also included intellectual and cultural awareness lessons.

The course is part of a series of courses held by the military forces to empower women militarily and intellectually. The HSNB participates in front line combat alongside the Syriac Military Council (MFS) and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
