GERMANY: German jihadist women sentenced to two years and 9 months in prison

HAMBURG, Germany The Higher Regional Court in Germany sentenced the German jihadist Daniela J. to 2 years and 9 months in prison. According to the German newspaper Bild, Daniela voluntarily went to Syria with her husband when she was 17 years old. There, she fought and made media propaganda for the Islamic State, according to documented conversations, photos and videos.

Newspaper Bild pointed out that after her former partner died, Daniela returned to Hamburg in May 2020. She is pregnant again and expects her fourth child in January.

It was reported that her new 22-year-old partner is involved in the Salafi movement and is currently detained. Therefore, the Court did not accept her defense that she distanced herself from the Islamic Jihadist group and movement.
