Syriac Union Party in Qabre Hewore strengthens relations with other parties in North and East Syria

QABRE HEWORE, Syria — A delegation from the Syriac Union Party (SUP) visited the headquarters of the Democratic Union Party (Partiya Yekîtiya Demokrat, PYD) in Qabre Hewore (Al-Qahtaniyah) in North and East Syria on Tuesday.

The visiting delegation included SUP Co-Chairs in Qabre Hewore  Faya Ardish and George Yousef. They were received by Sabah Waheed and Hadiya Shammo.

During the meeting, the two parties discussed the importance of developing joint relations, intensifying meetings, and ways to develop common work within the institutions of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA).

In related news, the SUP Women’s Office in Qabre Hewore participated in a meeting of the town’s political parties organized by the Civil Administration of the town. The importance of women’s role in peace-making processes, reconciliation, and conflict resolution in the region was emphasized.

They also confirmed the importance of women’s role in improving work within the DAA and civil society institutions, as women in the region are becoming increasingly aware of their rights, integral in developing a democratic society based on universal justice, and becoming more active in political, social, and economic life.
