Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Ephrem II meets with Bishop of Protestant Church in Hungary

BUDAPEST — During a recent trip to Hungary, Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Mor Ignatius Ephrem II  met with Bishop Zoltán Balog, presiding bishop of the General Synod of the Reformed Church in Hungary on Wednesday at his headquarters in Budapest.

The Patriarch was accompanied by Mor Timotheos Matta al-Khoury, Archbishop of Homs, Hama, Tartous and Environs.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the situation of Christians in the Middle East and the need to provide assistance to Christian communities across the East.

Hungary has a ministry dealing with Christian affairs and protection in the event of any violations or attacks.
