Al-Raha Foundation for Syriac Music and Heritage holds Christmas recital in Zalin, North and East Syria

ZALIN, Syria — In comments to SuroyoTV, head of Al-Raha Foundation for Syriac Music and Heritage in Zalin (Qamishli), North and East Syria, Shamoun Thomas declared that Al-Raha Foundation presented a Christmas recital titled “Nour al-Maghara (Light of the Cave)” under the patronage of Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Gozarto (Jazira) and Euphrates Mor Maurice Amsih.

Members of the Church’s Local Council in Zalin, representatives of Church institutions, and a large crowd of the people attended the event.

Thomas pointed out that the evening included a choir singing hymns and lyrical songs, in addition to a theatrical performance about the birth of Lord Jesus Christ.

He stressed that the children and the choir, through hymns and songs, hoped that 2022 will bring peace and love to Syria.

Al-Raha Foundation was established in 1994. It is concerned with the revival, development, and dissemination of Syriac art and heritage.
