Administration of North and East Syria issues Christmas circulars
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — For the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays, the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria congratulated the Christians of the region — among them the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean), Armenian, and recently converted Kurdish peoples and issued a circular to maintain security and stability during the holidays.
According to the circular, from 28 December to 2 January, trucks, tankers, and motorcycles of all kinds are prohibited from entering cities and towns.
During the same period, movement of all cars, buses, and vehicles will be stopped at all border crossings.
The DAA circular stressed that any celebratory gunfire by citizens or security and military forces will be swiftly punished.
Meanwhile, the DAA Executive Council of North and East Syria issued a Christmas circular indicating that all official DAA departments in North and East Syria will be closed on Saturday, 25 December, with the exception of those conducting vital and time sensitive work.
