Patriarch Al-Raï and Patriarch Younan receive several Christmas delegations
Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Raï and Mor Ignatius Youssef III Younan received several delegations and personalities on the advent of Christmas and New Year. During the meetings, they discussed the overall situation of the countries in the region, including the Christian presence in the Middle East and the repercussions of current crises on eastern Christians.
Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Raï received the Armenian Catholic Patriarch Raphaël Bedros XXI Minassian on Tuesday evening at the Patriarchal edifice in Beth Kerke. During the meeting, the two men exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the glorious holidays, and discussed the current situation in the East in general.
Patriarch Al-Raï also received a delegation from the Council of the Pharmacists Syndicate in Lebanon, headed by Dr. Joe Salloum, President of the Syndicate of Pharmacists. During the meeting, they discussed the necessity of securing a card for citizens which preserves the citizen’s right and ability to purchase medicine from pharmacies. The delegation emphasized that their goal is to maintain the quality of medicine and ensure that pharmacists remain in Lebanon.
His Beatitude also received the Ambassador of Lebanon to Brazil, Carla Jazzar. They reviewed the situation of the Lebanese community in Brazil and discussed ways to support the steadfastness of the Lebanese people in the face of the current crises.
Patriarch Al- Raï also received the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Lebanon, Yerjan Kalikinov, and reviewed some issues with him. Kalikinov also invited the Patriarch to participate in the Seventh Conference of Religious Leaders, which will be held in September of next year.
In another context, Patriarch Mor Ignatius Joseph III Younan received Armenian Catholic Patriarch Raphaël Bedros XXI Minassian at the headquarters of the Patriarchal See in Beirut.
During the meeting, they reviewed the general situation in Lebanon and the countries of the Middle East, the repercussions of various crises on the situation of Christian people in the East, and touched upon common church issues.
Patriarch Younan also received a delegation from the administration and the educational body at Deir Al-Shorfa School in Harissa. During the meeting, they talked about the importance of the church’s role in supporting the educational process to raise a good generation that is faithful, loving, committed to its church and attached to its homeland.
