President of Universal Syriac Union Party in Lebanon Mrad: Federalism is the only way out for the multi-ethnic Lebanon

BEIRUT — In an interview within the “Fi al-Mizan” program of the Koura Press Agency, President of the Universal Syriac Union Party in Lebanon (USUP) Ibrahim Murad, spoke about the reforms that President Michel Aoun mentioned in his last speech. Mrad stated that all Christian parties supported Aoun at the beginning of his rule, but he disappointed them because of his submission to Hezbollah, which led to the country’s collapse, and isolation from Arab countries and the region, in addition to transforming it into an Iranian-affiliated state.

Thirty years ago, Lebanon was subjected to the Syrian occupation, said Mrad, and the sabotage was completed by Iran and Hezbollah militia.

Aoun formed a Christian umbrella for Hezbollah to further enable it to control the country, in exchange for supporting Aoun and his stay in power (office).

Regarding his opinion for solving the Lebanese crises, Mrad declared that the Lebanese people should support the parties opposing Hezbollah and Iran during the upcoming parliamentary elections.

“USUP will support its allied parties within the sovereigntist front,” said Mrad, adding that international intervention, under UN Chapter VII, is necessary to disarm Hezbollah, and that federalism is the only way out for a country which includes many denominations and parties.

Mrad adopted the slogan of “Cleaning the Christian Home” from agents and traitors enslaved (submitted) to the Hezbollah militia.
