Patriarch Mor Ignatius Ephram II arrives in Cairo

Cairo – On the morning of Thursday December 30, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Ephram II arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo. His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the Holy See of St. Mark, dispatched Bishop Clementine, General Bishop of Hagana, Almaza and East Nasr City and its dependencies, Father Sergius, Undersecretary of the Patriarchate, and Dr. Gerges Saleh, to receive Patriarch Ephram II at Cairo International Airport. 

His Holiness was also received by Father Philip Issa, priest of the Parish of Cairo, and Professor Elias Sharistan, head of the Church Council.

Patriarch Ephram II was acoompanied by Mor Timothy Matta Al-Khoury, Metropolitan of Homs, Hama, Tartous and its Dependencies and Acting Patriarchal Vicar in Egypt, Mor Youssef Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Director of the Information Department, and Dr. Elias Halabi.
