QABRE HEWORE, Syria — The Women’s Office of the Syriac Union Party (SUP) in Qabre Hewore (Al-Qahtaniyah), North and East Syria, received a delegation from the Women’s Council of the Democratic Union Party (Partîya Yekîtî ya Dêmokrat, PYD).
The visiting delegation included spokesperson for the PYD Women’s Relations Office Arifa Bakr and spokesperson for the PYD Women’s Council Shadia Omar.
They were received by SUP Women’s Office members Faya Ardish, Shamiram Danho, Mona Shamoun, Razan al-Bannayat, and Hanan Hanna.
During the meeting, the latest political developments in Syria and North and East Syria were discussed, in addition to the importance of increasing the participation of women in social and political life.
The steps to activate women’s work in the institutions of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) were also touched on, in addition to the importance of having institutions concerned with organizing and increasing the role of women in civil society organizations.
They also stressed the importance of cooperation and developing joint relations and continued visits between the two parties with the aim of advancing women’s rights and improving society.
