SDF spokesperson Aram Hanna: Syriac Military Council, Tel Tamr Military Council, and SDF continue defence of civilians and property of North and East Syria
TEL TAMR, Syria — In a comments to SyriacPress, spokesman for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Aram Hanna addressed the Turkish artillery and drone attacks on the Syriac–Assyrian villages in the Khabur River Valley during Christmas and New Year’s, specifically the villages near the line of contact around Tel Tamr.
“We know the purposes of the Turkish attacks,” said Hanna. “Turkey aims to displace the residents and empty the region in preparation for the demographic change that it has been seeking for a long time.”
Hanna declared that the resistance of the Syriac Military Council (Mawtbo Fulḥoyo Suryoyo, MFS), the Tel Tamr Military Council, and the SDF enabled the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people to celebrate their holidays in safety and peace, despite the shelling.
“Defensive measures were taken on the lines of contact to ensure the protection of civilians and their property,” he concluded.
