Establishment of Syrian Construction and Development Party in Zalin (Qamishli)
ZALIN, Syria — A new political party in North and East Syria, the Construction and Development Party, was officially established in the city of Zalin (Qamishli) in North and Eastern Syria. The new party — whose slogan is “security, livelihood, stability” — was announced with a mass celebration that included many residents of the region.
“In the spirit of organization, the party is taking steps to achieve the aspirations of the Syrian people towards a decentralized, democratic system,” read a statement released by the party.
Soroyo FM, who covered the event, reported that political official in the Construction and Development Party, Tarif Obeid, stated that the reasons for establishing this party are the urgent need for a party that adopts ideas that concern the citizen in terms of security and stability.
Nazhan al-Rakkad, head of the party’s media department, said that they have been preparing for this announcement for six months, noting that the party is trying as much as possible to secure the three primary needs of Syrian citizen and that the party’s goal is to target people across the country, especially underserved rural communities.
The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) congratulated the party on holding its first congress, especially considering the difficult circumstances in the region.
