SYRIA: Al-Furat Public Hospital in Abu Hamam re-opens
DAYRO ZCURO, Syria — The Al-Furat Public Hospital in Abu Hamam in rural Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor) re-entered service after being provided with medical equipment by the Health Committee of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA).
The Al-Furat medical staff made vigorous efforts in refurbishing the hospital, said local officials. Recently, Hospital Director surgeon Abdel-Sattar al-Ali performed an appendectomy for a child from the area. It is the first surgical operation of Al-Furat Hospital following its reopening.
The hospital serves dozens of villages and towns in the eastern countryside of Dayro Zcuro. Its reopening will help alleviate the suffering of the residents who previously had to travel long distances for treatment.
