Iranian drones to Zalin city to consolidate Iran control over North and East Syria
ZALIN, Syria ـــــ With the aim of deploying its militias within more of Syria’s territory at the expense of the Syrian people, Iran has worked during the past hours through its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to transfer some 50 drones from Daramsuq (Damascus) to Zalin (Qamishli) International Airport. The airport of Zalin is under the control of the Syrian regime.
According to Basnews website, the drones were transferred via an Ilyushin plane to the airport, and then to the Syrian Regime Tartab Regiment in Zalin countryside. The website reported that the drones will be used to conduct training under the supervision of Hezbollah specialists, indicating that more drones will arrive soon, with the aim of consolidating the Iranian presence in North and East Syria.
This drone shipment is not the first of its kind. Over the past years, Iran has worked to transfer weapons and deploy thousands of elements to strengthen its militias and facilities, the last of which was a shipment of weapons and fighters for the Afghan Fatimiyoun militia, which is stationed in Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor) and its surroundings.
