Twelve frozen to death refugees at the Turkish-Greek border ignite a war of words between the two countries
ANKARA / ATHENS — The bodies of 12 refugees believed to have frozen to death were found on the Turkish-Greek border. The Turkish Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu claims Greek border guards pushed back people whose bodies were ‘stripped of shoes and clothes.’
Greek Migration Minister Notis Mitarachi described Soylu’s statements as unfounded claims, pointing out that Turkey should work to prevent migrants from leaving its lands, blaming it for what the migrants are exposed to.
They never made it as far as the border. Rather than pushing out unfounded claims Turkey needs to live up to its obligations by preventing these dangerous journeys at source.https://t.co/2zUmf3GfdP

Mitarachi declared that Turkey does not abide by the deal signed between the European Union and Turkey in Brussels in 2016. The agreement stipulates granting the Turkish regime political and financial advantages for stopping the migrants flow to the EU.
