Spokesperson for Northern Democratic Brigade: Syriac Military Council resistance in villages of Khabur in North and East Syria was honorable

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — On the 7th anniversary of the Khabur resistance, spokesperson for the Northern Democratic Brigade Mahmoud Habib told Suroyo TV that the resistance of the Syriac Military Council (Mawtbo Fulḥoyo Suryoyo, MFS) in the villages of Khabur River Valley was honorable.

Habib pointed out that even civilians were not spared from the crimes of the Islamic State (ISIS) who displaced, abducted, and murdered them.

“At that time, the MFS worked on direct military resistance against ISIS and transferring the residents to safer areas far from conflict areas,” said Habib. “The MFS efforts included great sacrifices and martyrs, whom we honor and salute.”

Habib pointed out that the real message, not the one conveyed by the media, is that, “The joint efforts of the Syrian people, with all its denominations, led to ISIS elimination,” indicating that this situation must be firmly rooted in the minds of all Syrians, and this solidarity will lead to a strong and cohesive society.
