Ibrahim Mrad responds to verbal and written abuse aimed at Beth Kerke

BETH KERKE — Ibrahim Mrad, head of the Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP), stated via Facebook that Beth Kerke and the Syriac Maronite Church were integral to the securing of dignity, freedom, glory, science, culture, openness, and development for the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people.

Mrad’s comments were made in response to written attacks on Syriac Maronite Patriarch Mor Bechara Boutros al-Raï by individuals and groups closely linked to Iran. Beth Kerke is the glory of Lebanon and represents dignity and freedom, wrote Mrad.

Mrad stated that continuing to live with agents and traitors in one country has become an unforgivable crime and has called for the Lebanese people to choose between living under an occupation whose culture is death, and living within a state of dignity, justice, and life.
