Beth Nahrain Organization for Women congratulates Iraqi and Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian women on International Women’s Day

BAGHDEDE, Iraq — In comments to SyriacPress, president of the Beth Nahrain Organization for Women (BNOW) Hanan Touma congratulated Iraqi women, and Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian women in particular, on International Women’s Day.

“It is known that women, despite all the harsh circumstances they live in, remain strong,” said Touma. “Women are half of society. When they are marginalized and not equal to men, society will be unbalanced.”

Touma called on all women to be strong and have a distinctive presence in society. She also hoped that they would reach decision-making positions to be equal with men in building society.
